Lance Armstrong Tries to Get Down to Kids' Level

Flynet

Lance Armstrong has accomplished numerous things during his life, including successfully fighting cancer, but the cyclist believes that “being a parent is the most challenging thing you’ll ever do and the biggest responsibility.” To help him, Lance looks back on the relationship he had with his mom to help him with son Luke, 9, and twin daughters Isabelle and Grace, 7. “I try to be friendly with my kids,” notes Lance, adding that “I’m their father and they’re my kids, but I try to get down to their level quite a bit and be silly and goofy with them and let them view me as a buddy.” Making life even more interesting for Lance is the fact that the kids spend part of their time with their mom Kristin Richard.

“It’s fun to see them evolve and grow and it’s interesting too because they split time between me and their mom. So they’ll go back to their mom for four days and come back and they’re doing something completely different. They learned to ride their bikes over here, and they go back to her house and say, ‘Hey, we’re riding bikes.’ But over there they learn how to tie their shoes and they come back over here and I’ve missed that.”

The 37-year-old recently announced that he and girlfriend Anne Hansen are expecting their first child together in June.

Broadway Star Kelli O'Hara Announces Pregnancy

Neilson Barnard/Getty

Broadway star Kelli O’Hara will be taking a break from her performance as Ensign Nellie Forbush in the play South Pacific this March, but she won’t be going on vacation. Instead, she and husband Greg Naughton will happily welcome their first child in mid-July. “We are very, very excited,” the 32-year-old shares. “Everyone at the show and at Lincoln Center has been so supportive. [Lincoln Center Theater artistic director] Andre Bishop said, ‘We’re going to throw you a big shower.’ All the guys in the cast go out of their way to help me up the stairs.”

The pregnancy has been an easy one for Kelli and she continues to perform her character’s nightly cartwheel! “It’s great for me to stay active because it keeps me feeling well,” she explains. To help conceal Kelli’s growing belly, South Pacific costume designer Catherine Zuber is redesigning clothes for the star. “For my comfort and also because you don’t want to take away from the story,” notes Kelli, adding that “I’ll get a one-piece [swimsuit] and different skirts.”

Since beginning her Broadway career in 2000 in the stage production of Jekyll & Hyde, Kelli has received three Tony nominations, including one this past June for her work in South Pacific.

Kelli’s husband Greg is a celebrity baby himself — his father is actor James Naughton.

Enrico Colantoni Misses Family While Filming

Kevin Parry/WireImage

Actor Enrico Colantoni is proud to be part of the hit television series Flashpoint, especially because it is filmed in his home country of Canada. While he loves being back there to tape the show, there is a downside — his wife Nancy and kids Quintin, 11, and Madelyn Francesca, 8, are at the family’s home in Los Angeles, CA because of their schooling. “I miss my kids … I know I’m going to go back in February, which makes it a lot more endurable,” says the 45-year-old actor. Enrico has only been away from his family for about a week but he makes sure to stay in touch with them frequently through Skype, even though he thinks he misses the kids more than they miss him!

The former Just Shoot Me star also shared that he is unsure when Amy Jo Johnson — his co-star and new mom to 7-week-old Francesca Christine will be coming back but assures us she will be! “Her baby is absolutely the most beautiful thing,” he gushed. In the meantime, “something happens in the fourth episode that will air this season that will sort of explain” where things stand with Amy Jo. “Anyone schooled in the ways of television knows how it works — the actress is pregnant, and then something happens, and the character conveniently disappears for a while.”

Kathryn Erbe Made Better by Motherhood

Andrew Walker/Getty

Motherhood has transformed Law and Order: Criminal Intent star Kathryn Erbe, making her “a better person in every way.” In a new interview with OK! the 42-year-old actress says that since welcoming daughter Maeve, 13, and son Carson, 5, she’s become “much less self-centered” as her attention has instead shifted to her children.

“My heart grows every day through struggling and love of my kids. It helps balance everything else – the work and the world. It helps keep me grounded and in perspective of what is really meaningful to me. It helps me be conscious of the way that I conduct myself in my relationships and in the world.”

Her comments came while attending the Year of the Mutt-i-Gree gala on Tuesday in New York City. Last year, Kathryn adopted a dog, Lilah, from the the North Shore Animal League — something which also “changed the whole dynamic of the family.”

“It brings everyone together. She’s this force of love who does not judge, does not get mad … she just walks around and loves all of us. And when my kids are crying, she immediately goes to them. If they’re hurt, she immediately goes to the area where they’re hurt. She’s an incredibly empathetic being.”

Maeve and Carson are Kathryn’s children with ex-husband Terry Kinney.

James Marsden Keeps the Romance Alive

Brian Ach/WireImage

For many new parents, the arrival of children triggers a decline in romance. James Marsden says that his own marriage to Lisa Linde might have suffered a similar fate, but the couple changed their definition of romance instead. “Early on in our relationship, there was lots of serenading on the beach and things like that,” the 35-year-old actor jokes. “But once you have kids, it’s all about the other stuff.”

“My wife thinks I’m romantic if I get up with the crying baby and let her sleep in. Romance is thoughtful acts for someone you love.”

Life in Tennessee is going well for the family of four, with the couple’s two children — Jack Holden, 7 ½, and Mary James, 3 — subjecting James to classics like Cinderella, Shrek and Toy Story “over and over again.” “I could recite those whole movies for you right now,” he admits. And while Mary is not yet aware of James’ celebrity status, the same cannot be said for Jack, who has an action figure of his dad’s character Cyclops in the film X-Men.  Adds James,

“But really, he’s really into Spider Man and Pixar movies — Buzz Light year is his guy. No Superman, no X-Men. I think he just assumes that everyone at his school has a dad who’s a big superhero.”

James and Lisa have been married since 2000.
