As The World Turns' Maura West Expecting Fifth Child

As The World Turns’ soap star Maura West is expecting her fifth child! While there is no official word from her rep, a costar reveals to The Suds Report that the proud mama is “over the moon” as she looks forward to the new addition to her family later this year. With no announcement, it is unsure whether the pregnancy will be written into her character’s storyline.

In addition to the new baby, Maura, 36, also has Joseph, 9, Katherine, 7, and Basil, 2, with her husband, former costar Scott DeFreitas and Benjamin, 12, from a previous relationship.

I have always loved Maura West and was very excited to see that she was having her fifth child. I hope that the show writes in this pregnancy because each time they have her character has had her babies at home and they have been breastfed, which is great advocacy.

Oh my god! I remember watching the A Baby Story episode where they welcomed Joseph! That was 9 years ago?! Wow, time flies fast.

I adore Maura West and I admit I am a huge CarJack fan (a fan of the romance b/w her character and Jack Snyder, another character).

I am soooo thrilled for her and Scott; by everyone’s account she is a fabulous person and very loving mom.

I have mixed feelings about them writing the pregnancy in though. If they do, I want it to be Jack’s baby, but if they don’t…well…the writers haven’t exactly been kind to Maura’s character when she goes on maternity leave (ie. the Simon disastor for fellow ATWT watchers)! LOL

Congrats Maura!

I just love her and all of the ATWT actors/actress. I have been a loyal dedicated fan for over 35 years. Maura & Scott make a lovely couple and God Bless her and her family.

P.S. I hope ATWT write her pregnacy in the story I would love to see Jack & Carly reunited.

I hope they have someone in the “Carly” role while she is out for the pregnancy. I hated the way they handled the other pregnancy! Love Carly, my favorite soap character! Please don’t give us some weird story line that takes her out of the picture for 3 months!
