Joey Fatone Keeps Fame in Perspective

Like most girls her age, 7 ½-year-old Briahna Fatone is a fan of the Jonas Brothers. Unlike most girls her age, however, Briahna’s dad — Joey Fatone — is a former boy band superstar himself!
During a Tuesday appearance on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, the 32-year-old singer and actor revealed that the full extent of his fame with ‘N Sync has finally begun to dawn on his daughter. During the tree lighting ceremony at Rockefeller Center in December, Joey was approached by some fans; As he obliged their request for an autograph, Briahna wanted to know why they were interested. “I said, ‘Because Daddy’s cool, that’s why,’” Joey laughed. Armed with this new knowledge, Briahna began to cry, however. Recalled Joey,
“She said, ‘You were in a rock band and you were cool and you were awesome and I’m nobody.’ I was like, ‘Are you kidding me?’ I basically said, ‘You know what, honestly, that means nothing to me. The best thing that ever happened to me was you.’ And she, thank goodness, stopped crying.”
Briahna is the first child for Joey and wife Kelly Baldwin.
