Fans of Alison Sweeney‘s Days of Our Lives character Sami know that she is often found in a hospital bed for one reason or another! When it came time for her and husband Dave Sanov to welcome daughter Megan Hope two weeks ago, it only seemed fitting that Alison was perfectly at ease. “While we were waiting for Megan’s arrival, Dave, my best friend Carrie and I were talking about work stuff quietly and I had the instinct to warn them to watch what they say because the ‘boom is on,’” jokes Alison. “They both couldn’t stop cracking up that I’m so comfortable in a hospital bed that I thought I was on the Days stage.”

The name Megan Hope was a hit with many CBB readers and while some may believe that the middle name came from the Days of Our Lives set, that is not the case, Alison explains.

“We decided on Megan Hope because Dave and I both loved the name Megan, and while the name Hope has such significant meaning at Days and in daytime, we chose the name to honor my mom and my grandmother.”

Alison and Dave are also parents to 3 ½-year-old son Benjamin Edward.

Mom Said It

"I had to make a decision that I could sleep with every night. I did feel responsible for the young girls who I probably confused and let down. I apologize for that. But I wasn't trying to glamorize teen pregnancy."
