Brr! James Wilkie Broderick concentrates on staying warm while mom Sarah Jessica Parker takes care of the backpack on a chilly Thursday in NYC. Luckily Friday brought more comfortable temperatures, with the city warming up to a balmy 45*F!

Also heating up: rumors that the Sex and the City cast is back for a sequel to last year’s big screen hit. Teases Sarah, “That’s what I’ve heard but I wouldn’t say that is the most official thing you’ll ever read.”

James, 6, is the first child for Sarah and husband Matthew Broderick.

James wears Tsukihoshi Kids Euro ($52), while Sarah carries a Fleurville Kids Messenger/Backpack in Khaki Camo ($50).

He is so cute! I love his expression here- it sums up winter in the Northeast this year! So cold!!
As for the pants and the shoes, these are probably among his favorites and the ones he likes to wear.

Maybe James just likes those shoes? But I do have to agree about the high water pants. Something just irks me when I see kids wearing pants that they have outgrown.

I agree with you readers on that James needs a new pair of pants. I mean I think it’s wonderful that he wears hand-me-downs but SJP wears nice clothing… It isn’t as thought they don’t have the money to spend on their only son and buy him a pair of pants that fit him. I don’t know, I see and don’t see the logic behind that, just my opinion.

Oh, thank god someone mentioned the pants. EVERYTIME I see a picture of James I want to say something, but I don’t want to be yelled at for being critical. It annoys me to see any child in pants that are way too short, but for a celebrity who clearly values appearance so much herself, I just can’t understand why she doesn’t put her son in pants that fit. Store-bought, hand-me-down or home-sewn….he needs longer pants!

Well, I read on here one time that she let’s James pick out his own clothes. I have never read or heard that she wants more kids. I’m pretty sure she only wanted one child.
