I don’t think anyone is very surprised about the link re: MMR vaccine and febrile seizures.
A lot of us who researched vaccines thoroughly found out from the beginning that there are more dangers in this vaccine than any other. It is appalling how little some people know about this before they willingly inject it into their babies.
And I in no way mean that is their own fault (although I do think it means they didn’t do enough research) – these vaccines are pushed and pushed by doctors who are paid to push them and not give out the real information.

Do your own research Moms. Make your own mind up.

I always complained that my parents favoured some of my siblins and were unfair to me.I turned out okay and what’s even better,I realise that I needed that extra bit of discipline and rules because at age 14 I couldn’t understand why my honest, responsible sisters got priviledges that I did not get.Now it’s clear that I did not get them because I was always lying to them, pushing the boundaries and never did what I was supposed to.No hard feelings at all.

So it sounds like as long as you don’t do that quad vaccine, and instead do 2 separate shots, there is no risk for the febrile seizures. This is really good information to have, as our baby is coming in 11 days. My husband and I have been researching vaccines and while I intend to get vaccines for my child (except for the chicken pox vaccine, which the JDRF has apparently said might be tied to higher rates of Type 1 diabetes), we are talking with our pediatrician about spreading out the vaccines over a little longer period of time.

this is unrelated to the above articles, but I just saw this article on another website and thought it was kind of cool. Nothing really shocking, but interesting nonetheless.

“Women’s hormones help them pick out cute babies… while men just think they all look the same”

Oh, I asked my husband to research further about the vaccine, and this is what he just emailed me:
“I did a bit of background research, and it appears that the CDC recommended against the “ProQuad” (MMR/Varicella) vaccine in favor of the seprate MMR and Varicella vaccines, particularly for families with a history of febrile seizures. Other combination vaccines (such as MMR itself) remain recommended as combination vaccines reduce the overall amount of immunological material injected. As the recommendation was issued nearly a year ago, I would hope that it is at least standard practice by now.”
So, it sounds like this is kind of old news, but something I will still bring up with the pediatrician just in case.
