Here’s a little cutie we haven’t seen in a bit! Story Elias Elfman, 17 months, accompanied mom Jenna Elfman to Dream Bigger Studios on Tuesday in Los Angeles, where she recorded a part in a video montage for Barack Obama. The project is being produced by Ashton Kutcher in honor of President-elect Obama’s inauguration next week.
Dad is Jenna’s husband of 13 years, Bodhi Elfman.

Wow, I didn’t think he looked like Jenna at all, but I found a picture of Bodhi, and Story doesn’t look like him either! I guess he does have Jenna’s eyes and nose, just smaller! =)

I was JUST thinking that. I was watching a documentary on TLC about children with different kinds of dwarfism and I couldn’t help but notice, he’s kind of got the same features as those kids. Or, he just may be small for his age.

I think he has eyes like his dad (and super duper blue). A nose like his mom’s. And remember, Jenna is TALL. So he might not be freakishly tiny, just a little dude with a big mama. And I agree – cool name.

He is a cutie! Looks just like mommy! Both of my boys are on the small side for their age, so I guess I’m a little hypersensitive on that subject. Strangers do not hesitate to say, “wow he is tiny”……but in my opinion that is just as rude as calling someone fat.

Chinese? Um, you don’t have to be of Asian descent to have almond or tear-drop shaped eyes. Dwarfism? Monkey? All I see is an adorable little boy and his mama.
I know all the comments are generally quite positive, but I don’t think I would ever say those things to a mother. Well, maybe ‘monkey,’ but only if I knew her well and said it in the context of ‘cute little monkey pie’ or something silly like that.

sorry if the comment sounds bad to you, will keep in mind but I am pretty short myself, have always been and got a bunch of nicknames refering to my height which I think are cute.Short is not a bad thing if you think about it,its a bodily characteristic like tall,big eyes, tiny mouth.I would totally say something like “what a tiny cute fellow you have here!” with a smile on my face to a mommy.In contrast my child is quite tall and everyone mentions it,neither one minds it.

I think the way the camera is angled makes Jenna look bigger and Story look smaller. And he is a cutie pie, I seriously CANNOT believe someone said he looks like a monkey! People who post stuff like that should post pictures of their kids so we can all critique them.

I think everyone is forgetting to look at the angle of the photo….it’s doesn’t take away EVERYTHING but it definitely can make things (and people) look out of proportion. I think Story looks like he’s a little on the smaller side in general but I also think the angle of the photograph makes him look much small than he really is! No doubt he is a little cutie though!

I don’t think the dwarf comment was supposed to be negative, it’s not like she said “Ew, he looks like a dwarf”, she just mentioned that she’d seen the special on TV and that he has a resemblance to the child on there. Like someone else said, being a dwarf isn’t a bad thing!

This little boy is super adorable. Anyway with that being said I don’t think people were in anyway trying to be mean,with the comments,saying he resembles dwarf. Plus if I remember correctly the girl, Kandice on the TLC Special,was still very, very tiny at his age (17 months). BTW he so totally looks like Haley Joel Osment!!! soooo cute

I’m sorry but I am really taking offense to some of these comments. How is calling someone “too small” or “tiny” any better/different than calling someone fat? I guarantee that most of you would not call someone’s child fat. So, people need to realize that these comments can be just as hurtful. As I mentioned in my earlier post above, both of my boys are small for their age. (I am very thin so I know where they got it from) They are both happy and healthy and that is all that matters to me.
Story Elias is not even 1 1/2 yet and looks totally normal to me. I do not think that Jenna Elfman would appreciate this critism of her adorable child.

To me, he does look a bit small for his age. But we have to remember that all children are different and there is nothing wrong with that! People always comment on Henry – Heidi Klum’s son – being big for his age, and I don’t think that is a put down at all!
I would say that he does have some similar features to those with primordial dwarfism, but if you google this, these children seem to be a lot smaller than Story. I think it is the small head size that gives him this appearance which could be a cause for concern, but as others have mentioned this just might be the way that the photo was taken (he is farther away from the camera than his mom).
I don’t think that any of the posters were meaning to be rude, and I think we all agree that he sure is a cutie!

He’s definitely got Bodhi Elfman’s (his father’s) eyes. And he’s totally adorable. He’s got the sweetest little face. I was very, very tiny for my age, but I’m not a dwarf. I’m only 5′ tall as an adult. But, it’s definitely not a handicap – just a genetic trait.

As for him looking “different” or having “elvish” qualities… I think he looks exactly like his mom. The eyes, nose, the features you think are strange… he got from his mom.
And from remembering photos of him as a baby, he was small, or at least not very big or chubby-looking. Some kids are smaller! Really!

If the people who are making comments about this child’s size wouldn’t say it to the mom face to face, then maybe you shouldn’t be saying them at all. Dwarfism? Monkey? Pixie Boy? Seriously – that is so ridiculous. Even if he is on the smaller side what does that matter? How would you feel if someone picked out a physical attribute of yours that stood out and harped on it? Even if they did say it “with a smile”.
In our US society there’s a perceived notion of what a baby should look like. Saying that a child is tiny is an insult, no matter how you want to spin it. It’s the same thing as calling an adult huge.
We all come in different shapes and sizes and we don’t have to fit in a particular mold in order to be seen as normal. Having different body styles is normal so please keep your rude comments to yourself.
