Mira Sorvino's Daughter Proud of 'The Mommy Movie'

Danielle K/Scott A/Bauer Griffin

If no one else likes her work in the television film The Last Templar, it’s okay for actress Mira Sorvino — because her 4-year-old daughter, Mattea Angel, loved it! “I screened it for my family and she was like, ‘That’s mommy!,” shares the 41-year-old. “I had to cover her eyes during the scenes that had to do with the murder story and, of course, the love scene, but after it was over, she said, ‘I want to see The Mommy Movie again!’ She really loved it.”

The one part that Mattea didn’t quite like was seeing her mom “loving another child. She did not like that I had another daughter that I loved.” But Mira used her feelings as mom to Mattea and 2 ½-year-0ld son Johnny Christopher King to help build her character for the film.

“Knowing how much I care about my own children, and how excruciating it is to make any choice that involves spending time away from them — I’ve actually only spent two nights away from my daughter and one night away from my son ever — I could relate to that. So, I just beefed up her warmth towards her daughter, and how much she takes care of her.”

Baron Davis Preps For Parenthood With Honor Marie

INF

Many first-time parents find a sense of comfort in the countless books filled with the tips and tricks of raising a child, but, often times, the greatest lessons are learned from simple hands-on experience. According to 7 ½-month-old Honor Marie Warren‘s godfather, NBA star Baron Davis, the tiny tot is having no trouble teaching her mom and dad the ropes of parenthood! Clearly enjoying life as a new mom, Baron reveals that actress Jessica Alba and her husband, producer Cash Warren, “know they’ll make a lot of mistakes,” but tend not to sweat the small stuff, saying “they laugh and learn from their baby.”

Hopeful to take a few notes himself for his future family, Baron credits Honor — a “real-life baby doll” — for stirring up his own feelings of becoming a father. “Honor is so much fun that she has definitely made me want to have children.” However, for now, the basketball player is perfectly content to sit back and learn from the couple.

“I’m just letting Jess and Cash teach me some things and make their mistakes first! I know what to expect now.”

Sheree Murphy Opens Up About Her 'Biggest Fear'

Mike Marsland/WireImage

Most parents harbor a fear about their children being home during a robbery, and Sheree Murphy is no exception. Unlike most parents, however, Sheree’s fears are well-founded. In a new interview with The Mirror the 33-year-old UK actress reveals that machete-wielding burglars recently attempted to break into her home; While Sheree and her two older children — Taylor, 7, and Ruby Heather Toni, 5 — were not there, Sheree’s mom was, along with Sheree’s then-infant daughter Matilda, now 10-months. “They jumped over our gates and were trying to kick the door in — then they started attacking the door with knives,” Sheree recalled. Although the intruders were eventually scared away by a house alarm, the incident left Sheree shaken. She adds,

“Our house is like Fort Knox now. My biggest fear is the kids waking up and finding an intruder.”

While the family could conceivably move to Turkey, where Sheree’s husband Harry Kewell plays football, such a move presents its own challenges. “The nearest international school was an hour’s drive away and the drivers in Istanbul are crazy,” Sheree explains. “I didn’t want to uproot the family.” For now, Sheree is staying put in England — and raising three kids primarily on her own. “It’s the sleepless nights that kill you,” she says. “This time I’ve had a maternity nurse and it was the best money I’ve ever spent.” Regardless, Sheree adds that she’d “like another one.”

“But not yet because I’d like to go back to work for a bit first. I’ve always wanted a big family and I must admit I’d like another boy. I adore Ruby but everything’s a big drama with her and I can see how Matilda’s going to be even harder work because she has a big temper on her.”

Sheree goes on to note that although “three [kids] is definitely a lot harder than two,” she is “so lucky” to have a family to call her own. “My life is Harry and the kids,” she says.

Greg Vaughan's Son Cuts Loose at Super Soap Weekend

Arnold Turner/WireImage

If General Hospital star Greg Vaughan isn’t careful, his 20-month-old son Jathan James may soon upstage him because “that kid is something!” At the Super Soap Weekend in November, Jathan “made a stage announcement in front of the live audience” when he introduced Brandon Barash [Johnny, General Hospital].

After the introduction, Greg “let him get down on the dance floor, and he started breaking it down real good. The audience went wild.” It turns out that they were not the only ones who loved Jathan’s performance.

“[Daytime, Disney-ABC Television Group President] Brian Frons was watching him dance for like an hour and a half and said, ‘That kid is like an Energizer Bunny.’ He’s ready for the junior edition of Dancing With the Stars.”

Greg, 35, and his wife, model Touriya Haoud, 31, have been married since June 4, 2006.

Candace Parker Planned to Tackle Parenthood Young

David Sherman/NBAE/Getty

In her first interview since revealing that she is expecting her first child with husband, Sacramento Kings player Shelden Williams, Los Angeles Sparks star Candace Parker shares that she is more than ready to tackle motherhood.

Admitting to the Los Angeles Times that there was no question the couple wanted children, Candace credits her own parents as her motivation to being a young mom –  a comment made by her team’s general manager gave a due date in May, which will make the player 23-years-old when she welcomes her first child. “When I was growing up, I had older parents and I missed out on their careers. My older brother knew my dad as a professional and I’d like to give that gift to my child,” says Candace. It seems the mama-to-be isn’t the only one ready to meet the newest addition to the family as she explains the upcoming birth has everyone thrilled.

“First and foremost this is a great thing for my family. I’m excited to be expanding my family. So is my husband.”

However, despite her utter joy to be expecting, Candace admits that her determination to participate in the upcoming basketball season — which begins in May — has some people questioning not only her abilities, but her priorities as well. Taking it all in stride, Candace says she simply turns a seemingly negative situation into a positive. “Obviously there are some naysayers out there, but that only motivates me to come back quicker and better if that’s possible.”
