Ryder Robinson Goes on Ski Patrol

Looking every inch the ski pro, Ryder Russell Robinson, 4 ½, took to the slopes in Aspen, Colo., over the weekend, participating in a skiing and snowboarding lesson with some other children. The little guy (who turns 5 next week) followed directions — before taking some time to play in the snow! Mom Kate Hudson waited — dryly — nearby.

Ryder is Kate’s son with her ex-husband, Black Crowes rocker Chris Robinson.

I would’ve guessed it was him only because I know his family goes to Aspen every year and Kate has talked about him skiing; other than that, I agree you couldn’t tell it’s him. So cute!! Hope he had better luck than I did-I went the day after Christmas and skiied into a caution sign on a black diamond slope! My side’s still feelin’ it.

Camo is the worse clothing print you can put on a child in a situation where they could become lost in a wooded area. First lesson for 2009. I’d hate to loose that precious boy among the trees and brush at a ski resort just for the sake of fashion. Kate is a good Mom, I’m sure she just didn’t realize this can be a serious problem.

I think Ryder looks so cute! @ Pat L., not to say that you don’t have a valid concern about kids getting lost, but I wouldn’t call Ryder’s outfit “a serious problem.” Jeez… I remember people complaining b/4 that Kingston didn’t have a helmet on while his mother was holding him on a ski slope. Now this kid is suited up in the proper ski armor…and we still find fault. Oh well.
