Jaimee Foxworth Expecting First Child

Jesse Grant/WireImage

Actress Jaimee Foxworth is expecting her first child this spring, her rep reveals to PEOPLE. Famous for her role as the youngest child on Family Matters, the 29-year-old — who has suffered from a drug addiction in the past – is ready to begin life as a family with her longtime boyfriend and their upcoming arrival. Admitting that she “never really wanted a child in the past,” Jaimee, who is 5 months along in the pregnancy, says the road to sobriety has “opened my eyes to a whole new world” — one that includes “years of joy to share with my child.” She adds,

“I haven’t been this happy in years. I am excited about what the future holds for us.”

In addition to entering into the world of motherhood for the first time, Jaimee’s future plans also include the release of her autobiography in 2009, continued work on a hip-hop album, and a spot on a reality show.

Best wishes for a happy future for Ms. Foxworth! She has struggled so much since she was harshly dumped from Family Matters. I hope this marks the start of happier days for her!

Aw I am so happy for her! She grew up to be beautiful! I had heard about her past and for her to get over all of that is wonderful.

Oh I hope she is in a good place now. I watched her on Celebrity Rehab and it was so sad to watch her story but I am glad to hear she is staying sober. Congratulations to Jaimee!

I barely remember Jaimee Foxworth on Family Matters. I didnt know she grew up to have a drug addiction. I’m happy for her that she is better now and expecting her first child. All the best to her this new year.

I simply wonder why they are skirting around the “other issues” she has faced in her life.
Moderators, I know you are focused on the positive, and it just makes it more impressive how strong she has had to be to overcome all that she has had to deal with. Not mentioning the worst? It’s like ignoring part of her strength.
