My husband and I listen to a little of everything; I'm a country fan in particular. Baby has shown a preference for Daddy singing The Monkees and for Carrie Underwood in general.

I also understand about the dogs. My cat has definitely been acting differently since I've gotten pregnant. He's become so jealous that we actually had to put him on some low level medication!

My husband and I have an eclectic taste in music and nothing is off limits. When I was pregnant with my oldest, every time we would put on Pink Floyd, she would rock out. My second daughter loved Johnny Cash the most. He is still her favorite to this day! Now that we are expecting our third, I have mainly been listening to Christmas Carols. That will definitely be changing soon, though!

A friend, upon learning I was pregnant, had one request. Don't play the Dead Kennedys while pregnant. That was it. So, no Dead Kennedys, but a bit of everything else around, except perhaps gospel, and traditional classical.

Normally, in the apartment, I have some type of music playing so, in a way, both of my boys were introduced to music before they were born.

When I was pregnant with my eldest, I was going through a classic rock phase so lots of Zeppelin, Hendrix, Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Doors, etc. He's an extremely mellow kid so I can see how that worked out for him.

My youngest, due, in part, to his father's love of punk rock, was played the Ramones, the Sex Pistols, the Stooges, Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, Bad Religion, etc. To this day, he goes crazy when one of their songs comes on. My ex just bought him a little drum set for Christmas so he's been playing that non stop. His hair and head bopping while playing have earned him the name Animal, after the Muppets character.

Oh this brings back memories from when I was pregnant with my baby boy!
I used to have a lot of French classical music playing in the apartment and he would kick so hard inside me every time when this song played: Les Peines et les Plaisirs de l'Amour( The pains and the pleasures of love) which I thought was fitting at the time because I was going through a bad time in my relationship with his father and also because I was falling deeply in love with my baby each day he grew inside me- and giving birth to him was just phemonenal- not only was it painful but it was beautiful and just healed me in the sense I was content with myself.
To this day, if I put that song on, Pierre my son will do this very funny crazy dance and sing at the top of his voice, " MON AMOUR MAMAN!"
It's very sweet!
