Anne Dudek has welcomed a baby boy, PEOPLE confirms. Son Akiva Heller arrived on Sunday, December 14th, weighing in at 7 lbs., 7 oz. This is the first child for the Mad Men actress and her husband Matthew Heller.
The Big Love and former House star, 33, announced her pregnancy in July with a hearty, “I’m having a baby!” See who else has a due date coming up in our Who’s Due Next gallery!

I’ve only heard Akiva for boys,probably because of Rabbi Akiva in the Mishnah and Midrash.I love the name for a girl to, it has character IMO.

I actually kinda like the name, but I wouldn’t use it myself because it reminds me too much of an Akita, which is a Japanese fighting dog, and they’re banned in the UK. But look at the mamma, and you know that baby is going to be gorgeous. Congrats!

The name Akiva is a jewish name and they are both jewish. Read that on another website. They waited the 8 days to announce the birth and name till after his “bris” thats what some jews do.

My husband’s name is Akiva. It is pronounced A-KEY-VA.
In the hebrew language, the v and b are interchangeable, so it can also be A-Key-Ba, as a variation.
When I told my husband that a celebrity had named her son Akiva, he expressed some concern that six years down the road he would have the same name as many children starting kindergarten. I told him I don’t quite think it will catch on like “Ava” or a “Madison”

Nikka, the last name Dudek is actually a Polish last name. On several websites it states that Anne is of Polish ancestry.

my son’s name is akiva – he’s 2. its hebrew, or rather aramaic, and is a diminutive of jacob. my son was named after rabbi akiva, from the talmud.
