Lily Sheen Changes Her Mind About Acting

Despite Lily Mo Sheen telling her mom Kate Beckinsale that she didn’t want to be an actress, the 9 ½-year-old will star in Everybody’s Fine with her mom.
In the movie, Kate plays Robert DeNiro‘s daughter and when the directors were searching for a little girl to portray her in flashbacks, “they asked me if [my daughter] Lily would audition.” The protective mum initially refused, because “I thought she’d be on the set, and if she didn’t get it, it would be such a disaster.”
However, Lily “insisted on auditioning” and got the part, filming three scenes with Robert De Niro, which Kate thought was “absolutely wild at the age of eight.” It was an experience that Lily won’t soon forget, and she forged a life-long friendship with Robert, thanks to food.
“He was absolutely lovely and kept feeding everybody cannolis. Lily was a total fan for life once he introduced her to cannolis; the allegiance was set.”
Lily’s father is actor Michael Sheen.
