After being crowned the champion of Dancing With the Stars and taking home the prized disco ball trophy, Brooke Burke tells Entertainment Tonight that she had little time to celebrate the win with her family before being "whisked" off to New York City for press events. However, with Thanksgiving only days later, the 37-year-old was determined to spend the holiday on her terms, relaxing with her family — including fiancé David Charvet and her kids Neriah, 8 ½, Sierra Sky, 6 ½, Heaven Rain, 22 months, and Shaya Braven, 8 months — and made an "escape" to Connecticut for "some much needed" downtime.
"Thanksgiving was great. It was a long time since I had a day off. It was three months, seven days a week. [I] got a car, took my kids, [and] went to go visit relatives and family [in Connecticut] — that’s where I’m from. It was the perfect way to spend the holidays.
With her hectic schedule and her long hours in the studio, Brooke admits that — while thrilled with the outcome — the family couldn’t be happier "that it finally came to an end." However, despite their excitement to have Brooke to themselves, David and the kids became big fans of the show, enjoying "every moment of it!" On hand to offer their support during the big finale — David, Neriah, and Sierra in the audience and Rain backstage — the girls have inevitably "fallen in love with dancing."
