The Wonder Pets Save the Nutcracker!

12/05/2008 at 12:00 PM ET

The Wonder Pets are on their way, back to help a baby animal and save the day! Oh wait, they’re actually saving a nutcracker- does that count as an animal? Does your kid really care? Probably not. The newest Wonder Pets special, "Save the Nutcracker!" premiers Monday, Dec. 8 at 8:00 p.m. (ET/PT). It’s also currently available in stores and also includes ithree additional new-to-DVD episodes from the series.

Infused with the familiar music of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker, this Christmasy (but not Christian) tale follows the Wonder Pets as they pursue the Mouse King, who has stolen the Nutcracker from the classroom, into a picture book. Linny the Guinea Pig, Turtle Tuck and Ming-Ming Duckling dance through a wintery wonderland filledwith sugar plum fairies and sweet treats  straight out of the classic ballet. They persuade the Mouse King to giveback the Nutcracker and be happy with what he already has in hiskingdom.  Then the Wonder Pets travel back to the classroom and on Christmasmorning, they crack open their nut which magically decorates theclassroom and brings the Nutcracker to life.
