Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Donovan McNabb and his wife Roxie welcomed twins on Tuesday morning. The babies — a boy and a girl — join the couple’s 4-year-old daughter Alexis at home. Although Donovan confirmed that everyone is healthy, he declined to release the twins’ names.

Donovan, 32, and Roxie were college sweethearts at Syracuse University, before marrying in 2003.

Don’t like the Eagles, but I love happy stories about families and children. So, congrats to the McNabb’s.

LOVE LOVEs my Eagles but somewhat tired of McNabb as our QB(and Andy Reid too)….but that being said Donovan is supposed to discuss the twins on the news in a bit so if he reveals info I’ll post it asap.

JM on

He will not reveal the names yet. But said this:

“No matter what happens out of the football field you know you go home to individuals who love you for who you are and not for what you do. I was able to be there which is memorable and one that as a father is what you want to be a part of. To be able to see your kids be born is a wonderful feeling.”

They said his wife had a “difficult pregnancy and perhaps this is why Donovan has not been playing well the last few weeks!”

Mom Said It

"I had to make a decision that I could sleep with every night. I did feel responsible for the young girls who I probably confused and let down. I apologize for that. But I wasn't trying to glamorize teen pregnancy."
