Clint Eastwood: I'm An Older, But Better Father

Jason Merritt/FilmMagic

For 78-year-old Clint Eastwood, his mature year reflect the countless films he has starred in, produced, and directed, but when it comes to parenting his seven children — including his 11-year-old daughter Morgan — the California native believes that his age is just a number. While Clint is the first to admit his busy schedule over the last year may give the impression that he has little time for his youngest, the opposite is true, as Clint’s "daughter takes precedence over everything." Although his determination to be an involved father may be evident in his parenting skills, that focus has not always been the case, according to Clint. Spending his younger years "working all around the world" on a "desperate" mission to "find the brass ring," Clint believes he is a "much better father now" who — despite the odd looks — can always be found supporting Morgan on the ball field.

"I go to all the softball games and look ridiculous out there because almost everybody’s got a much younger father than me. But it’s fun. I think you appreciate a lot more when you get to my age."

In addition to daughter Morgan with his wife Dina Ruiz, Clint also has daughters Kimber, 44, Alison, 36, Kathryn, 20, and Francesca, 15, and sons Kyle, 40, and Scott, 22, from previous relationships.

I really do love Clint Eastwood, I always have, but to have a child at 67…..well, negligent and selfish springs to mind.

He has already surpassed the average life expectancy for an American male and she is only 11.

As I said, I adore this man, but I think to have children so late in life was not a wise decision.

I think Morgan is very lucky to have Clint Eastwood as her dad. He is not the average Joe, and will probably be around for many years to come.

I met him once. He was at a conference my company was sponsoring. He was the most courteous man I ever met. Heck, I would have kids with him now! No, we spoke for about 30 minutes (I was his handler for the day – it was a ginormous conference). We mostly spoke about books and travel and his youngest daughter (he prefers not to talk about his movie career). It was sweet, he had about 50 pictures of his kids in his pocket. It is not the traditional route to be sure, but I am certainly no one to criticize.

He’s happy. I don’t see any issue with it.

He’s just the loveliest, most patriotic, and talented man. Now we hear he’s extremely family centered and focused. Wow.

His daughter and his wife are both adorable. Kudos to him for his unending support.

His age would seem to be a plus. With age, comes wisdom. And he’s still handsome and making one heck of a cinematic contribution.

Silly, this talk about his age.
