Uncommonly Cute Booties: Customize Your Baby Booties

11/24/2008 at 03:00 PM ET

Are you looking for a completely unique gift for the baby who has everything? Just in time for the holidays, Uncommonly Cute’s new Build-A-Bootie programallows you to design a custom-made soft-sole shoe that has your baby’sname written all over it. Choose from three shoe styles (traditional, faux fur trim, and boot-style), shoe and ankle trim color, then add thechild’s name or initials and choose thread color and font. You can evenadd an optional design like a heart, butterfly, basketball, etc. I like the idea of customizing just the colors for a specific outfit.

Prices range from $38-42 and sizes newborn to 3 years. 10% ofproceeds from sales are donated to Room to Grow Foundation, a charitythat assists orphans and unaccompanied minors with food, shelter andbasic necessities. Turn-around time is approximately two weeks so keep that in mind if you want it for a gift.

By the way, we’re told that Jennifer Lopez and her sister Lynda Lopez received these shoes and love them.

That’s an outrageous price for a pair of booties that will be outgrown in 2 months!I think I’ll stick with Wal-Mart, thank you!

Those are adorable. I love that some of the money goes to charity.

Mom Said It

"I had to make a decision that I could sleep with every night. I did feel responsible for the young girls who I probably confused and let down. I apologize for that. But I wasn't trying to glamorize teen pregnancy."
