There was no Potsie, no Malph. Not even an Al or an Arnold. In fact, any resemblance that Bailey DeLuca Baio‘s ’50′s Sock Hop themed first birthdayparty had to a certain TV show that made her father famous was purelyaccidental – and kind of a touchy subject.
Explains Scott Baio‘s wife, Renee, "After I started orderingall the decorations, Scott walked into the baby’s room, and is like,’Darn you! You know what’s going to happen? Everyone is going to talkabout Fonzie and Chachi.’"
"I told him, ‘It’s too late, it’s already ordered,’" addsRenee, who ending up ordering a birthday cake shaped like a pinkCadillac. "He understood and I think it’s fitting."
As for Scott, 46, the one-time super Hollywood bachelor is discovering that Bailey may be more like him then he bargained for. "I was frustrated with her because I was trying to get her totake a nap before the party and she wouldn’t do it," Scott tellsPEOPLE. "When I was a baby, my mother tells me I never slept because Inever wanted to miss [anything]. She is the same way: she doesn’t wantto miss a thing."
Bailey’s first birthday party was held Saturday at theBraemar Country Club in Tarzana, Calif., and featured a ice cream floatbar, plenty of hula-hoops, and guests such as former Growing Pains star Tracey Gold wearing their finest ’50′s regalia.
But the star of the party, in a poodle skirt and blouse embroidered with her initials, was clearly Bailey. "She’s almost walking and already has great sense of humor,"says Scott of his daughter. "She also has a short fuse and a bad temper, like me." He adds: "She is the life of my party, that’s for sure."
