Vera Farmiga Expecting a Baby Boy, Shares Due Date

Evan Agostini/AP

A successful actress with movies that include The Departed and Down to the Bone, Vera Farmiga is preparing for "the biggest role" of her life: becoming a mother for the first time. Now that her battle with morning sickness has passed, the 35-year-old is looking forward to "the big day," which according to Vera, is "supposed to happen on January 5th." With her dream of motherhood coming true, Vera — who "yearned" for a baby "more than anything" — is spending her down time "on a little farm in Upstate New York" with her husband, Deadsy’s Renn Hawkey, and their brood of goats as the couple prepare for their baby boy.

"It’s really sort of a great place where I can be centered and have a great perspective on what it is I want and need. My husband is a carpenter and he’s going to be making the crib."

Vera’s new film — The Boy in the Striped Pajamas — is in theaters November 14th.

Don’t really know much about her but how awesome to have a husband who can make a crib for your child!

While I think it is fantastic to make your own baby stuff, I heard a terrible story recently of a friend of a friend whose husband made the crib and since it wasn’t held to the same safety standards as modern manufactured cribs the baby slipped in between the bars and strangled itself. I am really sorry to be such a downer but I thought I should share that. Be safe!!!

I love that her husband can make the crib himself. That is so special :)

Wow, I had no idea she was married to Renn Hawkeye (From Deadsy)-I thought he was still engaged to Courtney Wagner- the daughter of Natalie Wood & Robert Wagner.

Congrats to them both!
