Charlie Sheen Happy to Move Past First Trimester

Brandon Charles / JPI

Lately Charlie Sheen and his wife Brooke Mueller have had a lot to be thankful for: discovering they were expecting, finding out they were having twin boys, and more recently making it past the morning sickness that comes along with the first trimester. While the couple are "thrilled" that their two new bundles of joy — due in April — are boys, Charlie admits to Extra that they are almost equally as happy to have moved past those first twelve weeks. With the first few months made worse by Brooke’s emergency gallbladder surgery, Charlie jokes that being supportive of his wife has taken its toll.

"There have been days I show up to work and they’re like, ‘Dude, what’s up?’ I’m like, ‘Just be glad I don’t reek of vomit — and not my own!’ Sorry honey!"

The father of three daughters — Cassandra Jade, 23, Sam J., 4 ½, and Lola Rose, 3 — Charlie, 43, who admits that "it’ll be interesting" raising boys, reveals that his two younger daughters have started to understand that they are going to be big sisters. Taken by surprise at dinner one evening, Charlie shares that Sam, "just out of the blue," turned to Brooke and said "It looks like you might have twins in there!"

Cassandra is Charlie’s daughter with his ex-girlfriend Paula Profitt while Sam and Lola are his children with ex-wife Denise Richards.

Ah im happy shes over her first trimester! That is an adorable story of how sam said to brooke “it looks like u have twins in there”! Can’t wait to hear the names and see these sheen boys! Also, you would think that a 4 and a half year old would understand that she is getting little brothers!!! anyways congrats to the whole family

I don’t understand how she is just out of the first trimester, but they already know they are having boys? The only thing I can think of is if she had CVS testing or something? Well congrats to them!

I find it interesting he said nothing when Denise was preggers with his two girls and now he is all over commenting on this pregnancy, is it because they are boys? Maybe I am reading too much into it. Be happy for all your lady’s pregnancies not just the ones that are boys!

Jenn- I believe it’s actually possible to find out the gender via ultrasound as early as 12 to 14 weeks (someone please correct me if I’m wrong!), especially if the baby or babies is/are boys.

If you do the math, 12 weeks is roughly three months, which is still the First Trimester.

D- From what I’ve read, I’m under the impression that, even when Denise was pregnant with Sam, she and Charlie were already have troubles in their marriages. That could be why Charlie didn’t speak of the pregnancy.

Denise and Charlie split while she was still pregnant with Lola, so I’m not at all surprised that Charlie didn’t make any comments about that pregnancy.

It would be nearly impossible to tell the gender at 12 weeks much less on twins. Its much more likely that they had invtro or some other testing that determined gender. I’d bet my weekly allowance it wasnt by sono.

Callie- I said anywhere from 12 TO 14 weeks. 14 weeks would be around the second or third week of the third month of pregnancy.

Also, some commentors on other posts about celebs finding out their baby or babies gender/genders early on have said they found out the gender of their own babies very early in their pregnancies (i.e., as early as 12 weeks).

If they found out the genders at 12-14 weeks on twins already it was not by ultrasound – too early. Probably CVS or some other sort of early test…

I am also pregnant, 10 weeks, and I will have to wait until 20 weeks to find out boy or girl. This isn’t my first child and have always had to wait until 20 weeks/ 5 months pregnant to find out. Like many have posted on here they had to find out another way not via ultrasound!
