When we travel I take a backpack full of goodies for my 6 year old. Portable DVD with DVDs, books (she loves to read and be read to) coloring books, crayons, notebook, snacks, drinks, a couple of small toys, blanket and of course her leapster. Sometimes she only uses one or two things but by bringing her favorite things she has a varity to choose from.

I know is a lot of stuff, but if she is busy, she wont get bored and start to get frustrated! lol

I ordered the Trunki case online, (the blue one with horns) and when it came it was tiny!!!! Literally, it was so small. Just a heads up.

When I took my kids to Europe I had packed new toys for them in the carry-on bags to assemble and use on the long 8 hour flight, and also hand-held DS video games….and extra batteries! :) They also had books, coloring books(for the younger ones) and magazines as well.

A great tip is to wrap the toys that you’re bringing along for the journey. You get a few more minutes out of each one!

I saw this at the airport on a recent trip. The little boy was zipping all around the terminal. He was having SO much fun! Really cute idea.

I recently flew from the East Coast to the West Coast with my 22 month old son. He spent 4 hours playing with a Magnadoodle, so I totally recommend this toy. He just isn’t into videos yet but I do have a portable DVD player. I usually buy a bunch of new toys and books for him to play with on the flight. He seems to do really well with this strategy.

Seriously, following on from my earlier note, my husband just concurred and suggested that the Terence Trunki was pretty much the size of his ball sac.

You guys suggested downloading Movies on to an ipod but an iPod doesn’t have speakers. I bought this thing from iFrogz.com that is amazing. You plug your ipod into this case that has handle bars for your little ones and speakers! My 18month old LOVES it!!! So much better than a portable dvd player!
