Angie Harmon Celebrates Baby Shower

Stefanie Keenan for use on CBB

Angie Harmon and about 30 guests gathered Sunday afternoon for her baby shower at a pal’s house in Los Angeles. The actress — along with friends including Amber Valletta (pictured with Angie),Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon, Holly Robinson Peete, Meredith Salenger, LoriLoughlin, Julie Moran and Ming Na – enjoyed the afternoon at the homeof Angie’s friend, Jamie Tish, who hosted with JillEistenstadt-Chayet.

The day was nothing short of sweet — with plenty of candyeverywhere, a cake from Sweet Lady Jane and champagne to kick off thelunch. L’Occitane assembled the gift bags. Tish and Eistenstadt-Chayet delivered speeches, as did Angie herself. "It was very sweet and touching," says a guest.

According to a source, Angie and husband Jason Sehorn know the sex of the baby but are keeping it a secret, so all gifts were unisex.

Angie and Jason, both 36, announced in August they were expecting their third child this winter. Their new addition will join the couple’s daughters Finley Faith, 5, and Avery Grace, 3.

Angel Dear Dalmation Puppy Blanket

Angel Dear Dalmation Puppy Blanket ($12) and My Blankee ($66): Due herself in January with fraternal twin girls, Rebecca Romijn stopped by Bel-Bambini to pick up an Angel Dear Dalmation Puppy Blanket and two My Blankee blankets for the shower. With Angel Dear, Angie and Jason’s baby will have a 14 x 14 soft and cuddly mini pillow, blanket, and comfort item all rolled into one. Plus, thinking ahead to those chilly winter nights, the new baby will be all snug and warm with their My Blankee blankets. Choosing two large styles — a solid velour green with dot trim and a polka dot green — that are adorable, yet chic, Angie will have no problem using these blankets for her baby to run errands or to walk the red carpet.

Bebe au Lait

Bebe au Lait Nursing Cover in Hot Dots ($35): Nursing can be tough, but add in caring for two older children and Angie may very well find herself feeding the new baby on the go! Luckily friend Amber Valletta gifted Angie with a Bebe au Lait in Hot Dots for those days when the new mom is busy running errands or spending a leisurely day at the park with her family. Made out of 100% cotton, the Bebe au Lait has a rigid neckline to allow Angie to take a quick peek at her new baby every now and then and also to allow ventilation to get to her little one who will be busy feeding.

Bestever Monkey Rug

Bestever Monkey Rug ($45): Not only is tummy time (or in the beginning, back time) important, but it also will give Angie and Jason a — most likely — much-needed break. In comes the baby’s new Bestever Monkey Rug! A super soft mat, the monkey is 31 inches long and gives baby a chance to take in their surroundings. Once Angie and Jason’s baby is a bit older, the mat could be a great place to sit and play with toys while mom and dad get a few things done.

Caty the Caterpillar

Caty the Caterpillar Rocker ($125): It may seem like the soon-to-be newest addition to the family won’t be using their Caty the Caterpillar for awhile, but before the proud parents know it, their youngest will be ready to roll…or in this case, rock! A friendly looking caterpillar, Caty is soft to the touch and comes with a foot rest for the baby plus two wooden handles to grip on to as they rock back and forth. In addition, when baby squeezes it’s cuddly, plush ear, they will most certainly be delighted when they hear the animal’s sound! However, Angie and Jason need not worry that their house will be filled with caterpillar sounds as the rocker comes with a hidden on/off switch. Although this furry friend was not on Angie’s registry, mom to twin boys Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon picked this up as a gift for the baby shower.

Ecoland Organic Newborn Baby Gift Set

Ecoland’s Organic Newborn Baby Gift Set ($40): In addition to the Bebe au Lait, Amber Valletta picked up a great eco-friendly newborn gift set for Angie and Jason. Complete with a plain, but stylish box tied with a green ribbon, Angie — who included the set on her registry — will be thrilled when she opens the gift to find 100% organic cotton items including a blanket, bodysuit, hat, and bib all for their third child. Only available in size 3-6 months, the new baby may not fit into the onesie right away, but made in only the natural color, the items are sure to look — and feel — wonderful on either a boy or a girl!

Kiddopotamus SwaddleSet

Kiddopotamus SwaddleSet – Organic Cotton Knit ($40): Keeping baby feeling secured, Angie and Jason will be wrapping up their little one in their new Kiddopotamus Swaddle Set. In case the couple have forgotten their swaddling days, the gift comes complete with a booklet with detailed illustrated instructions on how to achieve the perfect and secure swaddle technique. Made out of 100% organic cotton, the swaddle blanket is super soft and even comes with a matching knot-top sleep cap to keep baby’s head warm while they are snoozing!

She is probanly due sooner than we think than, even if she isn’t carrying very big. Because I doubt if she was due in say march, she would be having a baby shower so soon. I don’t know anybody who has a baby shower 4 months before their due date, that’s too early and can be bad luck. They are a cute family, I hope this baby is a boy

- brooke on

When did people start having baby showers for 2nd/3rd babies?

I get it if it’s dad’s 1st kid or your kids are more than 5 years apart (everything can be outdated then).

But it doesn’t make sense…but then again I’m not wealthy so I’m probably looking at it from my perspective…it would be fun to have a celebration for each child, but I still would feel funny accepting gifts…

- Jennifer on

I think there is nothing wrong with having a baby shower for a third baby. Each baby is a miracle and special, so they should be treated that way. Showers are a time to be excited for an upcoming arrival, not simply to “get things.”

- katie on

Jennifer, my family and friends are not wealthy either yet we have a babyshower for each child. We believe that every child should have their own baby shower, if the children are too close in age or they are the same gender we usually do a diaper/wipes or other little baby necessities as gifts, they do not have to be big and expensives gifts all the time. I for one LOVE babyshowers!! lol

- Bren on

I think it’s in poor taste to have big shower and expect gifts for a third child, especially if all three are the same sex and fairly close in age.

- Marnie on

Maybe she is due sooner than we think even though she doesn’t look that big. I read that Ashlee Simpson just had her shower and she is due any day. I thought she would have had it before now because she could have had the baby on the day of the shower or before the shower.

- Marilyn on

I’m hoping this baby is a boy to explain this etiquette faux pas.

- Rebecca on

How is it in poor taste if someone wants to throw you a shower and celebrate your child’s arrival?

- lizzielui on

She could be having a shower because its a boy and they need the “boy things”. :) I’m expecting #3 in February myself and I’m hoping to have a shower because it’s been 7 years since I’ve had a baby so I need everything again. But we’ll see if I get one or not…

PS-I want that monkey rug!

- Jennie on

Yep, pretty tacky to have a shower for 2nd or 3rd babies. Showers are strictly for parents, and I hardly think that these folks are in need of ANYTHING. That’s not to say that friends and family can’t greet the baby in a special way once they are here. I’m sure this couple will have some special get-together once babe is here. TACKY, TACKY, TACKY

- Julie on

Who cares if people have showers for each baby? As long as they aren’t planning the shower themselves (who plans their own baby shower anyway?) all it means is that people love you and want to celebrate your new baby. Since when is that a bad thing?

- Brandi on

A shower for a 3rd baby is a bit much, come on…

- K on

All I have to say it’s that it’s called a BABY SHOWER!!! It’s a party for the baby, not all about getting gifts. I have 5 kids (1 boy, 4 girls – the last 2 are twins). I have had showers for each one. It’s a celebration of a new life. The shower for my twins was about seeing friends & family before the craziness of being a family of 7 set in! Everyone brought diapers & wipes & we had a big cookout. It was great. I am all for baby showers for each child!!!

I hope Angie gets a little boy! But another gorgeous baby girl wouldn’t be bad either :)

- ~ Beth ~ on

Hey, to each their own. To you guys, its bizarre that she would have a shower for her 3rd baby, to foreigners like me, its bizarre that you guys celebrate the baby shower before the baby is born. For us, a “baby shower” is done for each child, but after the child is born. People bring presents and that but it is more “come and meet the baby” not “come and give me presents”.

- Aya on

I have a saying… Not every baby needs a shower, but every baby deserves a sprinkle.

I have three children, all two years apart, and my friends gave them a shower for each of them- all three were different. #1 was a girl- huge shower where we got all baby stuff. #2 was a boy, and we got boy stuff. #3 was a boy as well, and well it was smaller and I got things I would need (like diapers and some new clothes just for him) but all three babies got celebrated.

If you have a problem with someone having a shower for their 2nd or 3rd- don’t go.

- ann on

I just looked at her registry list, it looks to me like she is having a boy. There’s prince socks and something else with prince on it too, and it just seems that even though they tried to look unisex it looks more boy type things than girls IMO

- brooke on

Brooke I disagree that an earlier shower means a closer birth date. I’m due in Feb. and my friends are throwing me a shower in 2 weeks. It just ended up that this is the most convienent time for everyone to get together. Maybe she is having a shower now b/c this is the best time to get family and friends together. The luck thing I won’t argue with, as each culture has different rules about luck and babies.

- MB on

brooke- The other thing with “prince” on it is a “Prince Lionheart Drying Station”. “Prince Lionheart” is just the name of the brand. :)

As for the socks…I saw those to. But why keep the sex a secret and register for unisex gifts….and then register for socks that are clearly meant for a boy as well?

- CelebBabyLover on

CelebBabyLover, I agree!! It’s pretty obvious as of now that it’s going to be a little boy. I looked at Angie’s registry and her things seem kind of boyish, especially those socks. Those socks pretty much gave it away, because the I looked at another registry for someone who was having a baby girl, and that person had required the same brand of socks, but in a pink and flowery form..so I’m we know what their little surprise is now.

- J.J. on

My cousin has six children and she has had five pregnancies (last one was twins). Her first child is 2 years older than the second and then they next two are a year apart from the second. The twins are four years apart from the last. We gave a baby shower for each. Even if the children were a year apart we bought some more clothes and wipes and bottles and such. We celebrate each baby with a party and we do it not only for the family members that live near us, but for those who live in other states.

- Maggie on

Angie is absolutely beautiful! Does anyone know where that dress is from? I’m not pregnant, my daughter just turned one, but I still love that dress and want one:)

- Jessica on

I don’t care how many children you have, how close they are in age or if they’re the same sex…there’s nothing wrong with a decision to have a baby shower (or not if u choose)!!

LOL, I cant believe people are actually saying its in poor taste for her to have a shower, when in reality it’s not decreasing your opportunity to buy baby things or anything like that. What if she gave away most of her older children’s things? What if her friends want to help her celebrate her new blessing?
it doesn’t affect anyone else, you go Angie. She looks stunning, seems to have great girlfriends AND has a hot husband to boot.

- Melle on

eco friendly baby shower is the way to go. growinstyle.com carries eco friendly diaper cakes that make very unique center pieces.
