“Tania- that makes no sense.” Yes, it does. Little kids can’t pretend and not even Hollywood actors can pretend all the time. I’m Jake’s fan and this is one of endless paparazzi photo ops for Jake and Reese. Pure PR, there is nothing to be admired about them.

deacon looks like ryan, and when people are divorced kids see their moms or dads with bf or gf’s, that’s just the way it is.

Keep in mind that Ryan and his kids have been photographed with his girlfriend, Abbie Cornish. Rumors swirled that he fell for her during Stop/Loss, which was filmed when he was still married to Reese. People should not have an issue seeing the kids with Jake. Both parents have obviously moved on, and I only wish the best for both of them and the children. The sad reality is that most families are becoming blended families. I’m glad Reese has found love again and hope that she and Jake will last.

Reese and Ryan have both made it pretty clear that they are both 100% involved in their childrens’ lives, so I don’t think there needs to be any question of Jake trying to be the “new daddy”. Maybe in a perfect world Ava and Deacon’s parents would be together and happy, but since that isn’t the case, I think it’s nice that Jake is so great with them. He’s just one more person to love those kids and influence them. Obviously I don’t know their family life, but from what I can tell, Deacon and Ava have a lot of love in their life!

Wow is it just me or does this picture look like Jake holding hands with Ryan (only a smaller version)? LOL

I miss seeing Ava and Deacon and glad we got to see them ….errr Deacon.

Oh and I went to Justjared.com and didn’t see this picture or any other recent picture of Jake with either of Reese’s children, Ava or Deacon. Does anyone have a link where I can see them?

I think this is a bittersweet picture, not a photo-op (I hope).
If you want an example of a friendly divorced family, just look at Demi, Bruce, Ashton, and their girls. At this point it seems like Ryan is still getting used to Jake’s new role with the kids but they will turn out to be like Bruce and Demi

Well everyone can relax because Jake (aka Toothy Tile) is not going to be their new dad; he’s not even really dating their mother. He has a boyfriend (Austin), with whom he is on the down low. What this honestly is, is a modern Rock/Phyllis pairing.

Wow, so people can even find something wrong in something good?

If Reese was dating him and there were never any pics of him interacting with the kids, then it would be “he doesn’t like them” or “he’s shouldn’t b around them!”

As sad as it is, this represents how a lot of families are now – more people than ever get divorced, and more and more often it’s the kids who suffer the most because they’re caught between jealous parents. I think it’s great that Jake is man enough to treat another man’s children well. It’s a sign of maturity from all three parties that they obviously value the kids enough to put them first; can you imagine how miserable they would be if Ryan threw a fit every time they were in Jake’s presence?

Rather than seeing things half empty, I try to look at these things as I look at my own family: If not for my parents divorce out of a miserable marriage, then I would not have gained two friendly, happy parents, two wonderful step-parents and lots of wonderful brothers and sisters. I know not every situation is this way, but this family seems to be handling the situation in a mature manner and I am happy that Reece has found someone who obviously loves both she and her children. Ryan will always be their father but I hope he is secure enough in his position to be happy the children like Jake if he is going to be part of their lives. It’s never easy, but it is also not guaranteed to be a disaster. There’s a reason “bittersweet” is more tolerable than just plain bitter.
