Two CPSC Recalls and One Notice
The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has announced two additional recalls and a notice this week. For more info, click the links.
- Recall: YMCA Trading Recalls Lighters Due to Potential Burn Hazard to Children (no, not THAT YMCA). Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recalled lighters and contact YMCA Trading to arrange for return of the lighter for a refund.
- Recall: LeapFrog Recalls Didj Gaming System Batteries and Recharging Station Due to Burn Hazard. Remedy: Consumers should immediately stop using the recharging base and the two rechargeable batteries and contact LeapFrog for a full refund. Consumers can continue using the AC adapter connected directly to the Didj handheld game.
- Notice: CPSC and Carter’s Advise Parents of Rashes Associated with Heat Transferred, or "Tag-less," Labels. Remedy: If your child develops a rash on the upper back after wearing garments that have a "tag-less" label with a solid background, you should stop using these garments. If the rash persists or worsens, you should contact your pediatrician.
