Heidi Klum Becomes a Resourceful Baker For Her First Pumpkin Pie
Barnsley/Symons/Pacific Coast News |
Model Heidi Klum can now add baker to her resume, and a thrifty baker at that! In the mood to make her first pumpkin pie with her two older children — Leni, 4, and Henry, 3 — Heidi’s plans almost came to a halt when the trio realized they were missing a few key ingredients to make the crust. However, the bump in the road only forced the 35-year-old to be a bit resourceful, looking into her kitchen cupboards for inspiration. Sharing that she pulled out "all of the hard cookies out of the cabinet," Heidi then set up Leni and Henry with a hammer and let them get to work.
"Leni was hammering the cookies and then Henry got to hammer the cookies. He made the crumbs. It was crazy, but honestly it was the tastiest one ever!"
Unfortunately, Heidi’s husband Seal is out of town and is unable to get a taste of the family’s pumpkin pie — yet. Excited to share with Seal her first baking project, Heidi — who says Seal is "not going to believe that I baked" — has wrapped up a piece for the freezer.
As Heidi looks forward to Halloween and reveals that she tries to "top myself every year" with an "outrageous outfit," the Project Runway producer and hostess shares that the children’s costumes — including Johan, 23 months — are easier to put together. "Leni will be a bumblebee and the boys are both going to be Superman. Johan is completely easy and he’ll be anything. He doesn’t care," laughs Heidi.
