Daniel Goddard and Family Celebrate Pregnancy With a Vacation

What do you do when you find out you and your partner are expecting again? If you’re like Australian actor Daniel Goddard and his wife Rachel Marcus, you celebrate with a trip. After the couple learned that they were going to be welcoming their second child this winter, the couple took the opportunity to go on a family vacation to Mexico with their 2 ½-year-old son Ford Martin. "We got in a last vacation before we had the second child because we won’t be able to do it for awhile," says Daniel, adding that, "It was great and nice to spend time with the family. We don’t get to relax much and it’s probably going to get even more crazy." Along with celebrating, the couple is trying to help Ford adjust to the idea of becoming a big brother.

"He’ll say to his mother, ‘There’s a baby in your belly.’ He’s aware of what is going on."

Daniel can currently be seen on the daytime serial The Young and The Restless.

How did you celebrate after you learned you were expecting?

When I found out I was pregnant, I was shocked and amazed as I was only 19 at the time, however I didn’t celebrate as my boyfriend wasn’t happy. When I was 7 months pregnant, my friends surprised me and we had a baby shower near Sacre Coeur in Paris, absolutely beautiful. We had a great day and that was a celebration in itself.

We were so excited to learn we were pregnant, and just a few weeks away from our first anniversary too. Unfortunately, we were also preparing at the time for my husband to have to move across the country for work. I loved the idea of a “babymoon” later in pregnancy, but it wasn’t going to work out for us. Instead, we got something even better because his company was paying to fly us out to apartment hunt. That trip fell over our anniversary weekend so we basically had an expense paid trip for our anniversary/to celebrate the pregnancy. We didn’t get out much other than to look at the apartments b/c I was so sick, but I treasure us having that weekend together before he moved!
