Mark Wahlberg on Accepting the Paparazzi

There was a time in Mark Wahlberg‘s life and career where he questioned the judgment of actors who appeared — to the outside world, at least — to court paparazzi attention. "I’d always look at Tom Cruise and people like that and they go to a [kids'] soccer game and they’re being photographed and I’m like, ‘Why would you go to the game if you’re going to drag a bunch of photographers around with you and make everybody else feel uncomfortable?’" Since becoming a dad to Ella Rae, 5, Michael, 2 ½ and Brendan Joseph, 4 weeks, however, Mark says he understands the predicament celebrity parents face.
"Now they’re following me to my daughter’s soccer game and I feel badly but I’m going to my daughter’s soccer game. That’s just how it is."
Mark’s comments came while in Philadelphia to promote his new film Max Payne. The city has become a home-away-from-home of sorts for the 37-year-old actor, who has shot four films there during the course of his career. Each time, he has booked the same 2-bedroom suite — which will forever hold a new significance for Mark and his fiancée Rhea Durham. "My son [Brendan] was conceived in this hotel," Mark shared.
