Christiane Amanpour and Family Go Black Tie

CNN chief international correspondent Christiane Amanpour, 50,television news commentator husband James Rubin and 8 ½-year-old son Darius John pose on the red carpet at the 29th Annual Salute to Women in Sports Awards Dinner.

The event was held at the Waldorf-Astoria in New York City on Tuesday evening.

Darius’ middle name John is for John F. Kennedy, Jr., whom was a college housemate of Christiane.

I love Christiane, and wish she would have a regular spot on CNN or another network. She is so smart and fair, I just adore her. Its hard to watch people on the news who you don’t really trust, but I trust Christiane. I can’t believe her “baby” is 8 years old. I also hope Jamie will make a return to the Whitehouse!

I saw both Christiane and James speak at a conference last year. What brilliant, inspiring and charming people! I have never forgotten either speech, and actually still have some snippets saved on my phone. I wouldn’t be surprised if their son grew to be just as incredible and influential as they are.
