Noel and Liam Gallagher 'Profoundly' Changed by Fatherhood

The dynamic between Noel Gallagher and Liam Gallagher — founding members of the rock band Oasis — is a curious thing. Both men admit that outside of recording music and touring in support thereof, they barely speak to one another. If they do have one thing in common beyond the band, however, it is their newfound love of domestic life. Liam, 36, is up at dawn to go for a run before taking his kids to school, and jokes that when that’s done he likes to tackle "that big pile of ironing" waiting for him at home. Likewise Noel, 41, says that being a dad to Anais, 8, and Donovan Rory, 1, has changed his life profoundly. "It hasn’t changed my work in any way," he tells USA Today. "But when I’m bored in a hotel, I get my videophone out and look at my children and wish I was playing cops and robbers with them." He adds,
"I used to listen to music all day every day in my formative years. That time goes out the window. Show me someone who listens to Pink Floyd, I’ll show you someone who doesn’t have kids."
Anais is Noel’s daughter with ex-wife Meg Matthews; Donovan is his son with longtime partner Sara MacDonald. Liam is dad to Molly, 10, with Lisa Moorish, Lennon Francis, 9, with ex-wife Patsy Kensit and Gene, 7, with current wife Nicole Appleton.
Oasis’ new album Dig Out Your Soul is in stores now.
