I was getting my library degree at USC when H&TB was still a local band in Columbia, and I always felt pride in watching their rise. His daughters are lucky girls.

I love what he has to say about the storytelling aspect of country music. I’m not a big country music fan, myself, but I do respect it on that level, and I must say, Mr. Rucker’s new album is nothing to scoff at. I can’t stop listening to Don’t Think I Don’t Think About It and Forever Road.

It must be nice to be a man and be able to say that you choose to be with your kids without anyone looking at you askance!

It’s a shame that in today’s society when some of we women say that we choose to stay home with our children and love keeping our home, we’re either told, “oh no honey, you’ve just been brainwashed by a patriarchal society into thinking that you like it and are actually too dumb to know that you really don’t” or are told that we are a disappointment to our gender.
