Jeez…it’s a COKE…not heroin. Some people are so judgemental! Must be nice to be so perfect…

it’s not so much the caffeine in coke that bothers me, it’s the high fructose corn syrup that does nothing good for a body, let alone a pregnant body. caffeine is okay in moderation, but high fructose corn syrup has actually been outlawed by several countries!

Thank you, Jess. I knew if I looked in the comments there woould be several criticizing the fact that she was carrying a coke. I have 3 children under 5, and each ob I saw while pregnant told me that soda was okay in moderation. I think she looks healthy and happy, and I just wish some people would ne nicer I think it would be trying to be under a microscope like that.

Perhaps she’s still battling a little MS and the coke helps her tummy. I know with my current 4th pregnancy I lived on soda and crackers to make it thru the rough days.

ITA Brooke. I love my UGGs and can’t wait to slip them on again this winter, but these are just gross looking imo. And with that dress?? No way. Brooke looks so different without make-up.

there isn’t a consensus about the dangers of caffeine during pregnancy. in general it’s probably safer to avoid large amounts of caffeine. more than 3-4 cups of coffee seem to be considered ‘iffy’ (300-400mg).

for what it’s worth, a 1.45oz bar of dark chocolate has the same amount of caffeine as a 12oz can of coke (30mg).

in general, i pay more attention to high fructose corn syrup intake than caffeine. there is very little health benefit to soda calories. most doctors will tell you to focus on healthful, not empty, calories.

regardless, it’s a shame that so many mothers love to offer criticism masked as advice/PSA. what’s with all the finger-wagging?
