Katie Holmes — toting her daughter’s sweater, blanket, and stuffed duck — and 2-year-old Suri make a break for it while out in the East Village on Wednesday afternoon. The mother-daughter pair also stopped for gelato before returning home.

Now this is a cute picture! Suri looks happier than we’ve seen her in pics in quite awhile & Katie looks more enagged with her daughter. And this is proof that Suri doesn’t need to wear a party dress & look like she’s going to a royal wedding in order to still wears dresses, look girly, & be able to run around & play like a normal kid. More pics like this, please!

Suri is so cute! She looks so happy…and sometimes it seems as if she just ignores the papparazzi.

I know Katie’s wearing a baggy shirt…but the way it’s falling on her tummy makes it look like there’s bump under there. You know the tabloids will pounce on that rumor.

I agree in this picture she looks very cute and age approiate, BUT…again…..Katie is bundled, everyone around is dressed for fall/cool weather and Suri is bare armed and bare legged….I see a sweater in Katie’s hand, but, by the looks of everyone else, shouldn’t it be on the child???

On another site, I saw the sweater that Katie is carrying on the duck stuffed animal, not on Suri. Looks too small for her. The thing on Katie’s head is a scarf, holding her hair back like a headband. This is a really cute picture of them. They both look really happy, and Suri’s expression is just adorable!

I too agree. Suri just looks like a happy 2 year old in these pics rather then a dressed up doll who appears twice her age!! Love these photos! And perhaps Suri doesn’t like her jacket. Some days when it’s not to cold but just a chill in the air kids still think it’s too warm for jackets and refuse to wear them. Remember they run around a lot more then we do so they stay well heated!! lol

I have a daughter about a month younger than Suri and she never wants to wear as many layers as I do. I usually feel colder and will be in a sweater or jacker and my daughter and husband will be in short sleeves. I think everyone feels the temperature differently!

paula- ITA! When my family is out together it is like that as well…But in reverse. My dad is the one covered up in a sweater and a coat, while my mom and I are wearing no coats and (usually) short sleeves!

As for Suri’s bangs…Maybe they are trying to grow them out and she doesn’t like hairclips or headbands?

I love this kid, but I think her fringe needs to be trimmed a little bit! And I can’t understand why Katie always has her arms full, she should carry a changing bag or something, it would be so much easier to handle a two-year-old if she didn’t have her arms full!
