Kelly Ripa Looks to Daughter Lola for Determination

As a morning co-host on Live with Regis and Kelly, a wife to actor Mark Consuelos, and a mom of three kids — Michael Joseph, 11, Lola Grace, 7, and Joaquin Antonio, 5 ½ — Kelly Ripa admits, in this month’s issue of Shape, that when she’s in need of a bit of motivation, she turns to her little mini-me: her daughter. Kelly shares that Lola has recently taken up horseback riding and while she may have some acquired bumps along the way, she is "completely fearless in the saddle." The proud mama goes on to say that Lola’s "determination to keep doing it until she gets it right is inspiring," an attitude that, according to Kelly, more adults these days who are fearful of failure should adopt.
"As adults, we try something once and think, ‘I can’t do that; I’m moving on.’ But [Lola's] helping me tap into the optimistic idea of ‘Okay, maybe I can’t do that today, but if I stick with it, eventually I will be able to do it!’"
