Dennis Quaid Planning Big Birthday Bash For the Twins

09/26/2008 at 12:30 PM ET

After a first year that began with a health scare and trips back to the emergency room, actor Dennis Quaid and his wife Kimberly Buffington Quaid are ready to celebrate. While the proud parents to Thomas Boone and Zoe Grace — who turn one on November 8th — are planning on going all out with "a big birthday party," the couple aren’t oblivious to the fact that most toddlers don’t have a clue as to "what’s going on!" As Kimberly laughs that the twins "won’t have any idea," Dennis is quick to add that no matter what, "we’ll have fun."

As for the twins cruising around at their own party, baby Zoe might leave Boone in the dust! Saying "we’ve got one walker," Kimberly goes on to admit that while Boone is taking a bit longer to catch on, they certainly aren’t worried.

"Our son hasn’t quite gotten there yet, but he will be shortly."

Dennis’ new movie, The Express, is in theaters October 10th. Click here to check out the CBB twins gallery!

Emergency room(s)? I’d heard about their hospitalization when they were newborns but did something else happen to them?

Brandi on

Didn’t they end up with infections and have to be rushed back in?

Anyway, I can’t believe Zoe is already walking! Seems early especially for a twin!

Gina, I was thinking the same thing. And it seems inaccurate to me to write that they’ve had a year of health scares when for all intents and purposes, they’ve been healthy all but their first month of life.

Of course they shouldn’t be worried! The aren’t even one yet. One of my twins walked at 13 months but the other didn’t until a few days short of 18 months.

I’m all for big birthday parties too. When you have a baby, or babies, you can lose touch with friends and family a bit because you’re so busy. I always had big parties for my kids, it’s a good way for adults to hang out but with presents, cake, and cute babies.😀

Those babies and their parents deserve a big party.
