Wow ! Darcey looks so much like her ! Hehe,I know people are very much against thumb sucking in today’s world, but it’s still the cutest thing :)

On the subject of thumb sucking…can anyone tell me why kids do it? Seriously, I’m wondering. Both my kids didn’t suck their thumbs at all. I see kids (real little to even age 8) do it all the time at my daughter’s elementary school. All I know is if it’s done a long time, it leads to an overbite.

They suck their thumb because they are used to the feeling of sucking on a nipple and then a bottle, so the thumb is comforting.

Kids suck their thumb for comfort and calm. I can tell you from experience that it’s almost impossible to get them to quit, they’ll do it own their own in their own time.

Thumb sucking is a comfort thing; she will outgrow it when she’s ready.

Not sure why some kids do it. I have four children, two of mine are thumb suckers and the other never did. I have a 6 year old son who still sucks his thumb (mainly at night) and a 3 yr. old daughter who sucks it off and on during the day.

I sucked my thumb well into Jr. High and I have perfect teeth. Just saying.
