Expectant actress Jennifer Garner was snapped dropping off daughter Violet Anne at preschool on Thursday in Santa Monica, Calif.

Jennifer and husband Ben Affleck expect a sibling for 2 ½-year-old Violet this winter; Jennifer, 36, prefers to keep the sex of the baby and the due date private.

Gotta love Jen and that adorable little Violet!

I love that her sippy cup is mismatched – just like my DD’s usually is! 🙂 She is a doll!

These 2 are definitely my faves!! I just wish Jen would not always have her in pants & tennis shoes. They have such cute sandals for girls! But not my business I know!

My 3 year old daughter goes to preschool. I’d love to send her in all her cute sandals but they prefer tennis shoes rather than open toed shoes. I guess for safety reasons. Once in a while I let it slip because sandals look better with dresses.

my daughters preschool won’t let them wear open toed shoes or crocs. only gym shoes. plus they want them in play clothes and not fancy clothes since they sometimes get messy

I think it is so great how down to earth Jonnifer Garner is and how cute Violet is…just not sure why she is ALWAYS carrying her in every photo, does Violet never walk on her own?!

I love these two, Jennifer is so down to earth and real! I love that she has a mismatched sippy cup, I often do that too! I don’t know how she can even carry Violet, I am 5.5 months pregnant and when I do carry my 3 year old I can only do it for about 4 minutes before I feel like I am going to drop! And I like to think I am strong! But she looks great.

This is the first time I noticed this, and maybe it’s just this picture, but Violet (side profile) has somewhat of a resemblance to a young Melissa Gilbert (the yong Laura Ingalls in Little House on the Prarie)!

My daughter just started preschool this year and she is required to wear tennis shoes…shoes that they can run and play in…sandals are not allowed. Wearing them with socks is more comfortable. I know with her preschool, they get SO dirty…can’t really wear fancy clothes. Lots and lots of paint, glue, rolling on the floor, markers, snacks, etc…

I love the way Jen dresses Violet. She always looks adorable. They seem to dress her in the same low key type of clothes that they wear themselves. I think it’s cool. I just wanna see pix of them no matter what they are wearing. I don’t really care for this shot with Vi’s tongue hanging out of her mouth like that. hehe

love jen and violet, can’t wait for next baby. Wonder how much longer she will carry her though, violet is quite tall and jen is getting big too

Karen- I assume it’s because of all the paps. Also, for all we know, Jen picks up Vi when they have to pass the paps…and then puts her back down as soon as they are away from them. In otherwords, she may not actually carry her much at all.

brooke- My guess is that, barring any complications, Jen will carry Vi for the duration of her pregnancy. Angelina Jolie carried Maddox almost the entire time she was pregnant with Shiloh…and Mad was going on 5 at the time!

When Angie was pregnant with Knox and Viv, we saw her carrying Z and Shi right up until she entered the hospital in early July (and Z is almost an entire year older than Violet!). The girls, especially Shiloh (who prior to then had been carried almost all of the time) DID start walking a little more during the pregnancy, however.

Therefore, it’s entirely possibly that Jen will carry Violet through her entire pregnancy.

Violet doesn’t look very heavy so she can probably carry her through her whole pregnancy.
Amber H – I also love how her sippy cup is mismatched.
Jennifer and Violet both look pretty.

My daughter also is required to wear sneakers for preschool. It’s not just for the practicality of playing and not worrying about what the shoe looks like, nor the weather that determined this rule.

Open toed shoes and those without rubber soles have the most risk for injury on the playground. So most schools require sneakers that have rubber soles in order to reduce the risk of someone getting hurt.

Not only does my daughter’s preschool require this (as did my sons’ pre-ks), but our elementary school does as well.

Okay is it just me or is it more of a schooled type daycare instead of preschool at only 2 years old? I know my SIL’s son goes to daycare and for a few hours in the morning they work on colors and numbers but it’s not by any means preschool.

Melea – if Violet’s preschool is anything like my older son’s preschool. She probably only goes for a few hours a day. Basically, just to give Jen a break. But, in my son’s class (last year, he was in a 2 year old class), they started to learn colors, numbers, letters & shapes. During my parent-teacher conference at the end of the year, his teacher showed me how he progressed throughout the school year. I know he learns all this at home as well, but the main reason why we wanted him to go to preschool was b/c 1) I just had a baby. We figured having a newborn and very active toddler in the house (not to mention an actual preschooler) would be very tiring on me. 2) We thought it would be good for our son’s social development. Playing and interacting with kids his own age. Just my 2 cents. =)

I love the glimpses we get at seeing Jen parent, and Violet is definitely a cutey! But the first thing I thought of when I saw this photo was “Hmmmm, looks like Violet is going to have a little brother!”

Do you guess at the sex of the baby by the shape and position of the baby bump? I don’t know… but I think this bump looks all boy!

Jasmine on

I think it is an invasion of privacy, but I do love seeing pics of Jennifer and Violet. Violet looks like a “real” toddler. She also seems so happy. Good luck to Jen and Ben on the addition to their family.
