Actress Denise Richards has officially announced that her reality series It’s Complicated has been given the green light for a second season. Set to begin filming in the coming months, the 37-year-old mom to two girls – Sam ‘Sami’ J, 4 ½, and Lola Rose, 3 — shares that while there are scheduled shooting days, the crew don’t seem to be a bother for her daughters. According to Denise, they are actually thrilled that their mom is working from home! "They have been around this since they were born so they were just happy mama was home working," says Denise. With the family — including Denise’s "hilarious" father who has become a regular on the series — celebrating the success of the show, Denise is also realizing how time flies, as Sami and Lola just recently starting preschool. Says Denise,

"They are only gone for a couple of hours a day, but it’s surreal to me how quick they have gone from babies to preschool."

Sami and Lola are Denise’s daughters with her ex-husband, actor Charlie Sheen.

I love her show and I think denise seems like a nice lady and a good mom. Her dad seems sweet and her girls are beautiful, can’t wait for the 2nd season.

I do not agree with Denise’s decision to put her kids on tv but the court’s sided with her for some reason. I think it is unfortunate that Denise has decided to use her children to advance her career instead of pursuing her acting career.

Shouldn’t Sam be starting Kindergarden?

Brandi on

Not around here. You are 5 1/2 for kindergarten here, turning 6 during the school year.

Kelly on

You need to be 5 by September 1st to start school.

Some school districts offer 4-K but this does not replace Kindergarden. It is a preschool program offered through the district so there is no cost.

My daughter’s b-day is 9/11 so she was just days shy of 6 when school started.

What does the “J” stand for in Sam’s name?

Allison on

Erin,
Denise and Charlie have never released Sam’s full middle name, but I am guessing it is “Joni” because that is Denise’s late mother’s name. Denise’s mother died of cancer in late 2007 or early 2008, I believe, and Denise was very close to her.

Mom Said It

"We weren't trying to have kids. We left it up to fate. I knew there was a possibility, but I was really excited. Even if you are trying, just to see a positive result is shocking!"
