Michelle Williams rests a hand on daughter Matilda Rose‘s head while waiting to cross the street in Brooklyn on Saturday. Michelle, 28, and Matilda, 2 ½, had stepped out to get smoothies on a humid weekend in New York. Dad is the late Heath Ledger.

Michelle almost looks wistful in this photo. Matilda is adorable, as usual. First time I’ve ever seen her in barrettes! So cute.

Tami – what’s wrong with that? If it’s a fruit smoothie it’s nice and healthy and provides a fruit serving and a dairy serving. Maybe Matilda is a picky eater and Michelle gives her them to get some good nutrition in her? Who knows!

Shawna I mostly agree with you, the only thing is that tehse store bought smoothies are very full of sugar. Also the one use cups are not great for environment and usually end up in the garbage. I’d suggest that michelle makes them at home so she knows whats in them and use the reusable cups, that would be better on both fronts

I think that Tami was just making a observation – I don’t believe that she was being judgemental about it. I could be wrong but that’s the way that I took it.
Michelle looks to be lost in thought in this picture…. but I do agree that it’s very sweet how she’s gently touching Matilda’s head. Both look great

She may have a tender touch towards Matilda, but her hard cold stare at the paps, even behind her shades, is hard to miss.

I love this kid! I see more of Michelle in her as she gets older, but she’s still all about Heath 95% of the time. She has an impossibly angelic face, such a beautiful girl!

bless them both – i agree, such a sweet,tender moment between the two of them-i almost feel wrong/like i’m intruding by looking at pictures of the two of them as they’re obviously so private. although i am also glad to witness it,at the same time – if that makes sense?!
she’s adorable,and SO like Heath.he’s sure left a legacy in Matilda x
