I remember going into labor and being in the hospital with the nurse asking all the questions about my pregnancy. When she asked me how much weight I had gained, I said I didn’t know. She wanted to know if it was around a certain number, like 20, 30, 40 pounds. I told her I had no idea. She reacted like she had never encountered this before. I had to guess at how much I weighed before I got pregnant and then she made me get on the scale to weigh me. Found out that I had gained about 25 pounds. I think it is funny how obsessed with weight some people want everyone else to be.

I think Billie is very down-to-Earth which is wonderful considering she grew up in the limelight due to her pop career. I read her autobiography and that just made me respect her and her work that much more. I’m also glad to see shes not worrying about weight gain and enjoying being pregnant.

I hope she and Laurence have a happy and healthy baby next month. Congrats Billie!

I agree about the scale issue as well. I get obsessed with the numbers, so it is just easier to not step on it at all. She seems like a really great person, and I am sure she will be a great mom!

That is so refreshing of Billie. In the UK, she is well respected for keeping out of the public eye despite being on the biggest British television (Doctor Who) and now currently starring in the very racy Diary Of A Call Girl.

She is so grounded and so real.

I’m completely with Billie on not weighing yourself (pregnant or not!) Being someone who’s also suffered with food issues/an eating disorder in the past (Billie discussed her struggle with them in her book), I find it’s better just to look at yourself and feel you look good rather than obsess over every pound!

I did the same with my weight gain both pregnancies. Well the first was measured and not told to me, the second I refused to get on a scale at all. I was healthy and just didn’t care – it was necessary to grow those healthy boys I have now. I don’t get on a scale not-pregnant either.
