It seems like more and more frequently, diaper bags are being made to look, well, not like a diaper bag. While for some moms a diaper bag that can pass as a handbag is considered an asset, other moms are completely at ease with the notion of carrying a bag that screams ‘baby’ — and have in fact been waiting to carry such a bag all their adult lives. If you’re looking to straddle that divide, then Pout might have just the bag for you in the Carrie tote ($190).
A soft, quilted nylon exterior gave way to a beautiful coral lining in the brown bag I tested, and the Carrie tote has a standard tote-style interior with a wide-open main compartment, four side pockets (two of which are intended for bottles or sippy cups, but are not insulated) and a large zipper pocket. The Carrie tote does not include a changing pad, which I would have expected with a bag in this price range; Pout offers a similar bag — the Lola ($168) — which does come complete with a changing pad, however. And if you love the styling of Lola and Carrie but are more of a backpack girl, never fear, Pout also offers the Charlie ($135) pack for moms just like you. All three bags come in the brown/coral colors I tested, as well as a black/periwinkle combination.
