Not necessarily a mommy moment, but a joint parent moment.

When our oldest was 2, we were heading out to meet my mother-in-law for dinner. My daughter used to love to play with belts and ties and called them snakes. She was almost like a cat the way she wanted to play with them. So, as we are getting ready, my husband starts putting on his belt. She ran over and started giggling, wanting to play. We indulged her for a few minutes and my husband took off the belt to play with her. When we finally got to dinner, we apologized for being late. We were attempting to put our daughter in her highchair when she stood up and loudly announced to the whole restaurant that we were late because she was playing with the snake between daddy's legs. We were both speechless for a minute as we got multiple stares. Just as loudly, I announced that it was a belt that she referred to as a snake. But no matter how many times I said it, it just didn't sound right. We quickly finished eating and left.

Ah, yes... milk stains. If I was in a store or some public place and I started leaking through my shirt, rather then draw attention to the nipular area on my boobs, I would go into the bathroom, splash water on my shirt then adjust the shirt so the milk stain wasn't directly over my breast just to make it look as though I "accidently" splashed water on myself. That seemed so much better then leaky boobs for some reason.

After giving birth to my second child, my older daughter and I was at a well child visit. She reached into the diaper bag and pulled out a kotex pad and a nursing pad and asked, "Mommy, which diaper is yours and which is the babies'?" The whole office burst out laughing. To this day, she swears that kotex are diapers for mommies. In some ways, I guess they are!
