James Barbour Welcomes Daughter Hudson

Broadway star James Barbour and his wife Dana Stackpole are first-time parents, having welcomed a daughter on on Aug. 29. Hudson Barbour weighed in at 8 lbs 6 oz. and was born "beautiful and healthy" says the 42-year-old star of A Tale of Two Cities. Like many first babies, however, Hudson was slow to make an entrance to the world. Recalls James,
"[Dana] started labor in the morning [of Aug. 28]. Thankfully my in-laws are in town to see the show and support her, so [when I had to] eventually leave for the theater that evening they [took over]. I got a call about a half hour before I was supposed to go onstage that she was doing all right, and at 10:30, I hopped in a car and went to the hospital. She was in labor all night, and then the baby was born at noon."
When asked by Broadway.com where his priorities lie, James says it’s with "family and friends, no matter what." "I have a very close family and a lot of close friends to begin with, and then the birth of a child? It’s unbelievable," he says. "I look at [Hudson] and go, ‘Oh my god. She projectile pooped! That’s amazing!’ You know? These things that you’d never think. ‘She spit up! It’s so cute!’"
