A Pretty Penny: Baby Loafers from Cole Haan

When we spotted these mini penny loafers in a recent Cole Haan ad, we couldn’t get over how adorable they were! For the Fall 2008 season, the luxe brand is offering a baby penny, for children ages 3-12 months. The soft leather or suede shoes, $48, come in black, red and brown, and are stamped on the sole with the whimsical phrase, "Pennies from Heaven." There are matching versions for moms, too, like the limited-edition moccasin penny, $325.
The sweet shoes were unveiled as part of the brand’s 80th anniversary celebration, offering a re-imagined look at some of Cole Haan’s best-selling items. Additionally, the company is teaming up with the Common Cents Penny Harvest, which encourages children to collect pennies from their homes and neighbors, in turn generating cash grants to support worthwhile community causes. From October 10th-19th, Cole Haan will offer a 20% discount toward purchases in its stores to anyone who brings in pennies to support Common Cents Penny Harvest. All donations made during that period will be matched — penny for penny! — by Cole Haan.
