Eighteen-month-old twins Eden and Savannah Mahoney enjoyed an afternoon at the beach on Saturday, making sand castles and playing in the water with parents Marcia Cross and Tom Mahoney (not pictured) at Will Rogers beach in Santa Monica, Calif.

The new season of Marcia’s show Desperate Housewives willpremiere September 28th at 9 p.m. on ABC.

Both girls wear One Step Ahead Sun Smarties Flap Hats in blossom ($6).

Eden wears UV Skinz Baby Bloomers in butterfly ($16).

I am so pleased Marcia found happiness with Tom and her girls. She went through the death of her long term partner many years ago which had affected her. Thanks for making this lady smile again, Tom.

SJ: that is such a sweet comment, and I must admit I always think that when I see pictures of Tom and Marcia out with their little darlings. She is so lucky to have got a second chance at love and a family, and you can see in her face how grateful she is for it

Sometimes I think the paparazzi should send that actors reps any particularly good photos they take, and this is one of those times. The happiness on Marcia’s face is so clear.

I agree with the comment about the hats for sun protection, but these girls wear hats so much that I’m wondering when their scalps get any fresh air. The body needs some sun exposure for Vitamin D production. A great sunblock like Mustela SPF 50 should be enough for even the fairest of children.

I have thought what I’m about to say over and over again when I see posts of Marcia and/or Tom with the girls, I’ve just haven’t commented about it. I love this woman! She always comes across as so down to earth, but what I love is that she dresses her kids in clothing that us non-celebs do. Whenever I read about what her girls are wearing it’s always normal priced stuff. Like in this post, $16 shorts and $6 hats! She’s just not caught up in the glamour and glitz of Hollywood. More power to those who put there kids in shorts that cost $100 or whatever but I am more impressed by those who have lots of money but don’t act like it. There was a post a long time ago about her and the picture was her and Tom standing in front of their house. I commented then on how cool it was that they had a beautiful house but it was modest and not a typical mansion and they drove a Lexus SUV. If you did not know who Marcia Cross is you would just think it was your typical suburban couple & house. They just seemed so down to earth back then and it seems to continue with their kids. I think it’s really cool what they are teaching their kids too by living a down to earth lifestyle.

And of course Marcia and her girls are beautiful and her husband is handsome and most importantly you can tell he loves his three girls. I am glad she’s found such happiness, she seems really cool. I think she gets the least amount of attention in regards to her beauty as opposed to the other “Housewives” but I like her the best because she seems beautiful inside and out

Btw… SJ- I don’t think I’ve ever heard about Marcia losing a previous partner. How sad, when was this or what’s the story there? I echo what you said, I love her family anyway but how great for her to have found love again and three amazing people to put a smile on her face again!!

Marcia had been in a long relationship with actor Richard Jordan. They were together for about five years. He was 25 years old than her, but sadly died of a brain tumor in 1993, he was just 55. Marcia didn’t enter any serious relationships for another 10 years, until she met Tom.
