Quote of the Day: No Godparent Duty for George Clooney!

Eliot Press/Bauer Griffin

“No, he hates children. Are you kidding? I love them too much to subject them to George."

          — Brad Pitt, joking about if pal and frequent costar George Clooney will be named Knox or Vivienne‘s godfather.

Brilliant! Although I’m sure George cares about his friend’s offspring, going from what has been said in the past, I totally understand why Brad feels like that!

Touche. One question, though-was Shiloh’s tank top in Knox and Viv’s introductory spread a nod to Clooney? I can’t imagine another reason for her wearing a tank top with “GEORGE” emblazoned across the front.

I didnt know George hates children. I thought he just doesnt want any for himself

He’s kidding people. Did anyone really think he was being serious? This is what their relationship is all about, jabs at each other!

It’s clearly a joke haha. Maybe its just his way of answering an awkward question :) I know some of my best friends wouldn’t be the best godparents for my children but their still my best friends!

It’s sweet to hear Brad talk about Knox & Viv.

Lauren, I don’t know whether your comment was meant as a joke…George is a brand of clothing from Asda [Wallmart]. Not sure if you get that in the US but its very popular here because its cheap and lasts.

=)

Love Brad – he’s so funny.

Kids are amazingly cute – love Zee in this picture.

LOL, too funny! I love how George, Brad & Matt (Damon), always joke around with each other.

Thats too funny “I love them too much to subject them to George”. Lol. George is thinking, “Whew”!

I am actually kind of surprised that rumors were even started about George being Knox and Viv’s god-father.

Angie said in a recent interview that she and Brad are basically going to let their kids choose what religion they want to practice.

Therefore, I’m guessing the four older kids (it STILL feels weird refering to Shi as one of the “older kids”!) haven’t been baptized and that Knox and Viv probably won’t be either.

Or can kids have godparents without being baptized? My father is a minister, so when I think of godparents, I think of baptizim, but I have no idea whether or not there are other ways of naming godparents.

CelebBabyLover-

Angie has mentioned (in separate occasions) that Maddox is Buddhist and has at least two godmothers (she just said “my son’s godmothers”, it could be more than two). Maybe it’s just an informal thing, like Sirius Black is Harry Potter’s godfather :D

He’s funny!

And I must say, Zahara is all legs. She’s definitely getting more height to her as she gets older.

I love how George and Brad always joke with one another ….. Funny joke Brad!
