Tennis Player Ashley Harkleroad Expecting First Child

Ashley Harkleroad has skipped this year’s U.S. Open because she is expecting a baby. John McEnroe revealed the pregnancy during a broadcast on Friday, and Ashley’s rep confirmed the news to the NY Post the following day, adding that the 23-year-old tennis pro "does plan to come back to the tour." Baby-on-the-way will be the first child for Ashley — who in August became the first professional tennis player to ever pose for Playboy magazine — and her fiancé and coach Chuck Adams.

OMG . . . Ashley is such a mystery to me. I’ve followed her career for years and just when people thought she would break out and become a really good top 10 player, she goes and gets married (age 18); then she divorces, get herself back into shape and starts to win a few matches. Now, she pregnant!!

I think I need to move on!!!

Congratulations to Ashley! I was happy to learn that she was able to get pregnant after her ovarian cyst surgery in March. All the best to her and Chuck Adams and I hope she comes back to tennis after giving birth…she’s a good player!
