Fair enough Amanda, that’s certainly ONE of the stories that was out there, but to make the decision to move away when you know that your wife doesn’t want to and that your daughter is subsequently settled follows the same principle, however it happened. When the couple split, they were living in London and Tierry therefore made the decision to leave. I’m not saying that he didn’t do the right thing for many reasons, but living so far away from his child, would never have been something to think of as brilliant. Any child of his would always need top security measures, and unfortunately there are sick people in this world who would see a high profile child living with a single mother and think that she was a target. I wish the family all the best.

Actually Pheobe, he was already playing for Barcelona when his marriage broke up. He didn’t (as you said) take off to Spain once his marriage ended. His transfer from England to Spain was apparently one of the factors in the divorce as Nicole wanted to live in London although I’m sure there was more to it.

I’m a massive Arsenal fan and Thierry is my favourite all-time player. And as any Gunners fan will tell you, he worked incredibly hard to keep his marriage and his daughter out of the limelight; so much so that I’ve seen only 2 pictures of little Téa.

Unfortunately that does not disguise the fact that he is one of the world’s most famous football players and a handsome wage comes with that. And anyone with money will be a target for criminals, no matter where they live. I’m sure Thierry will do and spend whatever it takes to keep Nicole and Téa safe.

To be fair, the best thing he could’ve done for his daughter’s security would have been to not move hundreds of miles across Europe once he’d got divorced. Whatever the reasons for him doing so, I doubt it was in the best interests of little Tea.
