An expectant Ashlee Simpson-Wentz and friend Nicole Richie enjoyed some time out on Thursday afternoon, meeting for lunch at La Scala, then shoe shopping at Barneys in Los Angeles.
Nicole, 26, is mom to 7-month-old Harlow Winter Kate, her daughter with Joel Madden, while Ashlee, 23, is due this fall. It will be the first child for the singer and husband Pete Wentz.

Nicole’s braid is just lovely. We are seeing them more now. I’m thinking that we may even start to see the thick single braid become more widespread as well. Loved it on Ms. Walsh, the beach volleyball player.
It looks like Ashley is in the homestretch. It seems to have been a fun pregancy, she seems to be so happy, no matter what she’s doing. She’s quite beautiful as an expectant mom.

Beckypeabody, I was thinking the sam thing about the braid! I saw Walsh playing volleyball, and I thought it would be nice to see the braid come back!
