Tricia Penrose Welcomes Second Son, Freddy Jay

British actress Tricia Penrose gave birth to her and husband Mark Simpkin‘s second son on Friday, August 8th. Freddy Jay Simpkin weighed in at 8 lbs when he arrived in the UK. A spokeswoman for the couple shared that "Mark and Tricia couldn’t be more thrilled," and that mom and baby are doing well.

The couple announced the pregnancy in February where the Heartbeat star, 38, said that she "would like a girl, so if this one is a boy, it would be tempting to try again."

Tricia and Mark were married on April 12, 2003, and are also parents to son Jake, 5 next month.

Hope he wasn’t a delivery surprise! I know people here sometimes disapprove of parents hoping for one sex over the other, but it’s definitely hard for me to imagine not having a daughter. Best of luck trying again if she does decide to!
